ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I have a Ph.D. in protein biochemistry with masters in biochemistry. I worked as a visiting scientist at the department of life sciences, university of Tokushima, Japan for one year (1999-2000) and as a research fellow at the department of neurosciences at Harvard Institute of Medicine, Harvard University, Boston, USA (2002-2003) during my Ph.D.

After finishing my Ph.D. at the University of Karachi, I came back to Harvard as a postdoctoral fellow at the department of neurosciences with a focus on molecular and cell biology until 2005 before moving to Cornell University in New York. I worked as a postdoc (2005-2008) and was promoted to faculty at department of neurosciences, Cornell University NY, until I decided to move to Pennsylvania in December 2009.

My main area of research has been cellular and molecular neurosciences, with a focus on biochemical pathway involving stroke. If this interest you take a look at my publications on Pubmed.

I do love to read and cook for my family. I have two little girls who keep me busy.
